Brown rice dosa is a very healthy dosa recipe. The dosa batter is made of flour from brown rice. Brown rice is rich in fiber, more nutritious and is always a better choice over white rice when it comes to health. It helps lower cholesterol and prevents weight gain. And here we added complete nutrient values of Brown rice dosa.

Brown Rice Dosa:

Ingredients needed

Brown Rice – 70 Grams
Idly rice / Ground Rice / Par boiled Rice – 45 Grams
Urad dal / white lentils/ / Uludham parupu – 30 Grams
Salt – 1 Teaspoon
Fenugreek Seeds – 0.25 TableSpoon
Water – As required
Canola Oil – 1 TableSpoon (preparing dosa)

The Preparation Methods:

Step 1: Soak brown rice and idly rice together for 5-6 hours.

Step 2: Soak urad dal along with fenugreek seeds for 4-5 hours.

Step 3: Grind urad dal along with fenugreek seeds until light and fluffy adding water from time to time. Remove it in a vessel.

Step 4: Grind both rice together until smooth.

Step 5: Once you finish grinding the rice, add the ground urad dal batter to the rice batter and grind for another 5 minutes. I do this so that both the batter will get mixed well. Remove the batter from the grinder, add salt and mix well with your hands.

Step 6: Let it ferment for 6-7 hours. After fermentation, mix well and make brown rice dosa.

Step 7: Heat a tawa, add a ladle of the brown rice batter in the center and spread it in a circular motion.

Step 8: Drizzle 1/2 tsp of oil around the dosa, when the corners start lifting up, flip it over to the other side and drizzle another 1/2 tsp of oil.

Step 9: Serve with any type of chutney and sambar.
