Ingredients needed

Red Chilli – 20 Grams
Whole Urad dal/Uludham parupu – 50 Grams
Sesame seeds Dry Roasted (without oil) – 40 Grams (White Sesame seed preferable)
Asafoetida (Hing) – 5 Grams
Canola Oil – 0.5 TableSpoon ( for roasting dal and red chilli)
Curry leaves – 2 Sprig
Channa dal / Kadalai Parupu / Split Bengal gram -50 Grams
Salt – 1 Teaspoon

The Preparation Methods:

STEP 1: Heat little oil and roast urad dal and Kadalai parupu/Channa dal together until they turn golden brown.

STEP 2: Heat another little oil and roast red chillies. Then add Asafoetida / hing in the end and roast for a few more seconds.

STEP 3: Dry roast sesame seeds.(without oil), then Dry roast curry leaves

STEP 4: First grind sesame seeds for a few seconds and keep it aside. Do not grind it too much as it will ooze out oil.

STEP 5: Then grind the dal coarsely and keep it aside.

STEP 6: Grind red chillies with salt and curry leaves to a fine powder.

STEP 7: Mix everything together and store it in an container.

This powder mixed with sesame seed oil/ghee is a great combination for idli and dosa.
