Foxtail Millet Dosa is healthy nutritious and delicious dosas. Millets are high on fibre and satiate hunger quickly preventing from overeating. Fiber supplied by whole grains offered the most protection. Thinai is called as ”Foxtail millet” in english. Here you know, how to make foxtail millet dosa and their Nutrient informations.

Ingredients needed

Preparing Dosa Batter:
Foxtail Millet / Tinai / Kangni – 75 Grams
Urad dal / white lentils/ Uludham parupu – 25 Grams
Fenugreek Seeds – 0.25 TableSpoon
Idly rice / Par boiled Ricw – 25 Grams
Salt – 1 Teaspoon
Water – as required
Preparing Dosa:
Sunflower Oil – 1 TableSpoon

The Preparation Methods:

Step 1: Wash and soak Thinai / Foxtail millet, rice, urad dhal and fenugreek seeds in water for about 4 to 5 hours.

Step 2: Grind everything together to fine paste.

Step 3: Transfer it to a separate container; add salt and mix well. Allow to ferment for nearly 5 to 7 hours or overnight.

Step 4: Heat the dosa pan; pour a ladle full of batter and spread it in circular motion from inside.

Step 5: Drizzle some oil over the dosa, close with the lid and allow it cook.

Step 6: Remove dosa from the pan and serve hot with Coconut Chutney or any type of chutney.

Note:
1. Thinai / foxtail millet dosa tend to ferment fast than our normal idli batter, check it according to your climatic condition.
2. can also use raw rice instead of idli rice to prepare this dosa.
