Aapam is an South Indian breakfast recipe, which is served with coconut milk and sugar or with coconut chutney. It is healthy breakfast and easy to make this batter, but minimum time enough to cook. Here we added complete nutrition of aapams.

Ingredients needed

Raw rice – 50 grams
Urad/black gram dhal – 10 grams
Channa dal/Kadalai parupu- 2 grams
Methi/fenugreek seeds – 0.25 tablespoon
Salt- 1 teaspoon
Baking soda – 0.25 teaspoon( very few pinch)

The Preparation Methods:

Step 1: Soak all the ingredients for batter for 6-8 hours(except salt). Then grind it to a smooth batter using grinder.Then add salt at the end and mix well.
Step 2: Let it ferment overnight.
Step 3: Then add baking soda and mix well.
Step 4: Let it rest for some time. Then heat a non-stick appam kadai and pour batter and swirl around to make appams and close the lid to cook.
Step 5: The appam kadai should be hot when poured and should be closed and cooked in medium flame. Let it cook till the sides become golden and the center should also be cooked.

Serve with Coconut Milk, and any type chutney, kurma as your taste.
