Moong Dal Dosa tastes different from regular dosas as it uses moong instead of urad and also has an equal proportion of dal and rice. Moong Dal Dosa is a popular breakfast receipe of Andhra pradhesh. Ingredients needed
Dosa Batter:
Moong dal / Pasi parupu / Yellow Lentils – 30 Grams
Idly rice / Par boiled Rice_Raw – 30 Grams
Salt – 1 Teaspoon
Water – As required.
Tempering:
Sunflower Oil – 1 TableSpoon (prepare dosa)
Ginger Slices ( 1″ dia) – 2 Count
Green Chilli – 5 Grams
Cumin seed – 0.5 TableSpoon
Asafoetida (Hing) – 2 Grams
Coriander Leaves – 2 Sprig
Onions – 20 Grams
The Preparation Methods:
Step 1: Wash and soak the moong dal and par-boiled rice in enough water for at least 3 hours. Drain.
Step 2: Combine the moong dal and par-boiled rice in a mixer and blend till smooth using approx.
Step 3: Transfer the mixture into a deep bowl and cover with a lid and allow to ferment for at least 8 to 10 hours. Add the salt as needed.
Step 4: Chop green chillies, ginger, onions and coriander finely.
Step 5: In batter, add cumin seeds, asafoetida and finely chopped coriander leaves and add chopped onion and ginger. Mix well.
Step 6: Heat a nonstick tawa, pour a ladle of the batter in the center of the tawa and spread it in a circular motion from the center to the outer corners of the tawa. Drizzle a tsp of oil around the dosa.
Step 7: Smear a little oil over it and along the edges and cook on a high flame till the dosa turns brown in colour and crisp.
Step 8: Serve with any chutney or sambar of your choice.
