Ingredients needed

Grinding:
Onions Raw – 25 Grams
Tomato Raw – 15 Grams
Fried gram / split / Roasted gram / Pottukadalai -20 Grams
Ginger Raw / Ginger Slices ( 1″ dia) – 2 Count
Green Chilli Raw / Green Chilli Peppers – 10 Grams
Coconut_Shredded – 10 Grams
Salt – 1 Teaspoon
Oil – 1 TableSpoon (Canola Oil preferred)
Cumin seed- 0.25 tablespoon

To temper:
Mustard seeds – 2 Grams
Urad dal – 2 grams
curry leaves – 1 sprig.

The Preparation Methods:

Step 1: Take fried gram/pottukadalai, shredded coconut, green chilli, ginger slice, cumin seed little bit, tomato and salt, Grind everything together to a slightly coarse paste.

Step 2: Heat a tsp of oil, add mustard seeds,when they sputter, add urad dal, curry leaves and fry till dal becomes golden brown.

Step 3: And add the grinded paste itself, along with a cup of water and boil for a few minutes on medium flame.

Step 4: Simple Onion chutney is ready to be serve with Idly, dosa, adai and chapati also.
